Volume/Level - Peaks
"Volume/Level - Peaks" is audio information in the program that has a maximum or minimum amplitude value that does not meet the specification guidelines.
Volume/Level - Peaks impacts the Technical quality of the asset. The levels of the asset do not meet the Netflix Specification.
Audio peaks must be adjusted to bring them back into spec by either raising or lowering them.
How to Prevent:
Monitor audio on the timeline, and double check exports. Netflix will use Dolby Media Meter of FFmpeg to check levels. Use the same tools when possible for consistency.
Further upstream, the audio gain should also be monitored on set to avoid peak issues down the line.
When mixing audio, ensure peaks are being normalized to spec.
Overall gain must be lowered to bring peak levels into spec compliance.
Normalize peaks and re-export.
In cases where peaks are inconsistent throughout, re-mixing may be required.
