Backlot Hermes ID Instructions

A Hermes ID is a unique identification number that is assigned to a end-user that completes the Hermes application. This ID is required to log into the Hermes test and is utilized to search for a user’s test history and scores.

Fulfillment Partners now have the ability to input Hermes IDs upon delivery through two different methods, allowing Netflix to track performance metrics for individual translators

Note: While including the Hermes ID in timed text deliveries is not a requirement at this time, it will be in the near future.

Instructions for Entering the Hermes ID Value

There are two ways in which a Hermes ID can be transferred during delivery. One option is to manually enter the Hermes ID as "Optional Metadata" in the Backlot Delivery UI or API and the other option is to include the Hermes ID within the metadata field of your TTML file.

Note: You will only need to use one of the methods explained below per asset transfer.

Backlot Delivery UI

When you initiate your timed text deliveries to Netflix via the Backlot Delivery UI, you will notice the new Hermes ID field under Optional Metadata. Enter the complete "H number" with no other symbols or characters. Example: H55683

If you transfer files to Netflix via API, you can locate the correct values for including the Hermes ID under "Initiate Deliveries" within our Netflix Backlot Source Requests & Delivery Management API.

Hermes ID in the TTML

If you are submitting a Hermes ID as a metadata tag in the TTML file, you will need to be sure to include the following:

Namespace tag to be included in the tt root element:
