Description |
"Animation Error" is any artifact or impairment induced during the animation process that is not creatively consistent with the affected shot or scene. This error code should only be used on animated content and when the issue does not fall under a specific animation error code: [098] Animation/ VFX Intersection Error [099] Animation Incomplete Outline [100] Animation/ VFX Lighting/ Shading Error Or a more applicable content-agnostic error code, e.g. “[083] Continuity Error” or “[067] Aliasing.” |
Impact | Animation errors are distracting to the member experience, potentially taking their attention away from the story and drawing it to the technical aspects of the animation process. |

How to Prevent | Review final shots before they are sent to picture finishing. Adjusting exposure levels, monitor levels, and/or stepping frame by frame slowly through a final shot may help reveal animation errors. |
How to Fix | If the animation error is minor, it may be possible to address in picture finishing with a reframe or paint fix. For significant animation errors, production will most likely need redelivery from the original animation and/or compositing teams. |
