From the Media Library page in Content Hub, you can Share assets that are part of our long term archive. The ability to share is based on your Content Hub permissions for the project. If you cannot share assets and need the ability to share assets as part of your job, please reach out to your Netflix contact.
When accessing the Media Library page, please note that the page will default to dark mode and if you need help navigating the Media Library page you can find more guidance here.
Share Settings
Before you share a file, it is important to understand the different share settings you can use. The share settings are as follows:
Search Users: These are the users you wish to share the asset with. You can enter a single person or multiple users. If you enter multiple users they all will have the same share settings.
- Note: you can only share with users who have Netflix Studio account and have a vendor association in Netflix's system. If the email that you wish to share to does not appear in the search, reach out to your Netflix contact to ensure your desired sharee is set up properly in Netflix's system.
Add Watermark to video proxy: If the asset you wish to share gone through the encoding pipeline and is playable in Content Hub, you have the option to share that asset with a watermark. This watermark is customized to the sharee’s email address.
- Note: sharing an asset with add watermark option toggled on will kickoff the generation of a net-new encode with a watermark burned in. You can expect the share to be delayed to allow for this process to complete. Generally, adding a watermark will take roughly three times the run time of the file.
Can Download: This grants the recipient the ability to download the shared assets.
Expires: You can choose to set access to your share to expire on a specific date, which will automatically revoke access from the sharee on that date. First, turn the toggle on and then choose your expiry date. If you wish to grant indefinite access, leave the toggle off.
Notes: You have the option to share pertinent information regarding the file share by typing a message in the notes field. The message will pass through in the email notification, which is sent after the share is complete. If you share with multiple users, they will get the same message.
