The following article has been written specifically for the new Conform Pulls 2.0 version. (Not in Mailbox) Therefore if you have not been onboarded to the new Conform Pulls tab in Content Hub, please continue to utilize our old documentation for the older tooling.

For any productions utilizing our Content Hub Conform Pull system, this page has many frequently asked questions that may be helpful.
Q: Does the Conform Pull tool require a specific type of EDL?
- Yes. File 32, or File 129 EDL's are acceptable. CMX3600 will not.
Q: Do I need to remove effects and transitions out of my timeline before exporting my EDL?
- For our initial release we advise decomposing your sequence and creating a new timeline without any effects and transitions.
- We'll be working to remove this limitation and allow our system to accept more complex EDL's over time, but for the time being, if you want to ensure that what is pulled is always going to be accurate, we recommend removing effects and transitions from your EDL.
Q: Can I upload AAF or XML files instead of EDL?
Q: If I pull OCF files, are they automatically trimmed?
A: RED, ARRI, Sony, ProRes and many other files are able to be trimmed. We're always continuing to add additional format support for trimming. Therefore we will soon provide a link to a spreadsheet breaking down which formats can be trimmed and which cannot.
Q: Who should submit the conform pull requests?
A: Conform Pulls can be submitted by anyone that Netflix grants the appropriate permissions to. However this is traditionally performed by either the editorial team, or the finishing facility. We often recommend that the Assistant Editor perform the Pull Request, considering (when the Assistant Editor does not work for the finishing facility) if there is a problem with the EDL< or questions around content from the timeline, they will need to go back to the Assistant Editor for answers.
Q: How will someone receive the consolidated media for online?
A: Finishing facilities will receive an email upon completion of any pull and within this email there will be a link to view the submission in COntent Hub. Within Content Hub users can download the entire package, or individual shots. Users can also instal an application called Netflix Media Downloader (NMD) which will allow auto downloads. Therefore after the conform pull submission has completed, the media can be automatically downloaded by the finishing facility to their storage.
Q: What happens if a file cannot be trimmed?
A: If a certain camera format cannot be trimmed, the Conform Pull tool will revert back to delivering the entire file.
