Dolby Vision Metadata Error
Display Text Dolby Vision Metadata Error
Description "Dolby Vision Metadata Error" refers to any and all issues with the embedded Dolby Vision metadata delivered within an HDR IMF.  However, not all inconsistencies or “missing” elements within Dolby Vision metadata are true errors.

Video Example Here

Impact Netflix derives all SDR and Dolby Vision streams for HDR content based on the content mapping driven by this metadata.  Any issues with this metadata may result in visible errors for members watching our SDR and Dolby Vision encoded streams on service.

Solutions
How to Prevent Complete the Dolby analysis only after the HDR color grade is finalized.  Make sure the canvas and active image aspect ratio is accurately set before running the analysis.  In the case of content with varying/multiple aspect ratios, include per-shot L5 dynamic aspect ratio metadata for shots that deviate from the Global L0 aspect ratio settings and/or avoid positive lift values above 0.25.  Confirm/save any additional trim pass information. Review SDR output derived from the Dolby metadata prior to final export. Confirm textless and texted versions visually match each other. Confirm Dolby Vision Metadata shot changes are aligned with the actual edits in the online conform timeline.
How to Fix Depending on the nature of the error, may require reanalyzing certain durations or the full runtime or including additional per-frame or per-shot metadata.  If editorial changes occurred after the initial analysis, reanalyze affected sections.
