Table Of Contents
Finding Events With Errors
For any events that have errors you can resolve them by selecting the 1st event with errors text from the red banner at the top of the screen.
Figure A
You will now see that the 1st event with an issue is highlighted in the table and in the right hand panel you will see the details of the clip including why the error occurred.
Figure B
You can also find the next event with errors by selecting Next event with errors from in the bottom of the right hand panel.
Figure C
Previously Delivered Events
Our system logs every VFX plate that gets delivered and to who. Therefore if you send the same plate to a vendor, or user for the second time, it will flag this and you have the option to remove the events, or leave them in. What constitutes a plate being ‘The Same’? If the following attributes are the same as a previous pull, it will be tagged as a re-delivery:
- Start Timecode
- End Timecode
- Source Clip
- Output Name
If any of those attributes change, the plate will not be flagged as already delivered.
If a plate is flagged as already delivered, you can remove them from the current pull by selecting Remove Previously Delivery Events or Dismiss to have the events delivered again.
Figure D
Duplicate Output Names
‘Output Names’ will have been created based on a locator, marker, or clip name from the list file you uploaded. If there are any duplicate names, you will be warned that a duplicate output name has been found.
Figure E
In order to unblock your VFX Pull, you can choose to change the Output Name to something unique that does not match any other output name in the EDL by typing.
Figure F
Select Update and the issue is now resolved. If there are no more issues blocking this shot from being submitted, you will see the status on the event change to Ready to Submit.
Figure G
Source Clip Mismatch
If the error on your EDL is due to a source clip not matching any record in Content Hub you will be warned.
Figure H
You can click into the field, alter the source clip name. Then click Update. Now the system will attempt to re-conform.
Figure I
You will see Ready to Submit in the table if the re-conform was successful.
Figure J
If you ever have issues forcing the re-conform or you know the source clip is correct but it’s not finding the shot, the Media Library tab in Content Hub is where you can go to confirm that the original camera file made it into our system. If you don’t see the shot in our library, that means the file was either never uploaded, or there was an issue with the upload. If the source clip is visible in the media library but is still listed as "blocked" you can reach out to our MPS Support team using the Contact Support button at the top of the screen.
Detailed guides on how to use the Media Library can be found here.
No Output Name
If one of your locators does not have an output name the output name will be blank. The warning will let us know that there is an output name required and that the event may have an empty or missing locator in the EDL.
Figure K
You will need to manually enter a name, then select Update and it will attempt to reconform. You will see Ready to Submit in the table if the re-conform was successful.
Figure L
Unknown Source Color
If we do not know the source color for an event you will be blocked and in the Source Color column of the submission details page it will say Unknown.
Figure M
From the right hand panel select from the drop down the correct source color information. Select Update and the issue is now resolved and you will see Ready to Submit.
Figure N
Multi Match Warning
If multiple source files were found that had a matching tape field you will be warned.
Figure O
You will need to select the proper source clip, if you do nothing Content Hub will pull to the first matching clip by default. By hovering over each possible source clip you will see metadata about each clip to help you make your decision.
Figure P
Once you select the correct clip, select Update and the issue is now resolved and you will see Ready to Submit.
