Critical Mix Reviews - Audio

The below asset delivery specs are intended for Critical Mix Reviews in technical review rooms at internal Netflix facilities. A Critical Mix Review occurs in a calibrated reference environment and may be used to provide in-progress notes back to the mix team as well as  final mix approval.

RECOMMENDED DELIVERY OPTIONS:

-BWAV ADM + separate Video guide (recommended for Atmos review)

-Pro tools session + separate Video guide

-Pro tools session with Video guide included inside of session shipment

-5.1 stems + separate Video Guide (if specifically requesting a 5.1 review)

*Please note we are currently running Pro Tools v2020.12.0*

*Content Hub deliveries may be discreet audio files alone, within folders or within Pro Tools session folders also containing sessions. If a video guide is needing to be added outside of a pro tools session, stem shipment or BWAV ADM folder location, a note on which video guide to pull from Content Hub for proper sync will be needed from you.

 

SAMPLE RATE: 48khz

FRAME RATE: All audio should match the frame rate of the picture file in the session.

QuickTime (MOV/MP4/M4V Import/Playback)
DNxHR

Apple ProRes 422 (including HQ, LT, Proxy)
H.264 (c,e) (CFR only)

FILE NAMING: Files should be named so we know what frame rate, sample rate, version # it is

  • EXAMPLE:

    “chefs_table_s02e02_v03_FXSTEM_6ch_48k_24b_23976”

    If delivering stems, stems should be labelled what they are (FX, MX, DX, etc)

STEM DELIVERY:

Audio Stems that do not arrive inside of a pro tools session, should line up at the TC start time matching that of the head of the video file for correct sync playback.
