We’ve made performance improvements, added new formatting tools, and fixed several workflow issues to make scripting smoother and more reliable.
🚀 Performance Improvements
You’ll notice faster responsiveness across the tool, especially when:
- Retiming events on the timeline
- Running validations
- Dragging events
- Rerendering the events list
We also refactored validations to improve overall speed (no workflow changes required).
🎛 Layout & Display Settings (Now Saved!)
Your workspace now remembers your layout preferences after refresh.
We save:
- Timeline height
- Event panel width
- Column configuration
No more resetting your setup every time you reload.
🔎 New Formatting Filters
You can now filter events by:
- Italics
- Boutens (Japanese)
- Horizontal Digits (Japanese)
These filters help you quickly identify formatting-specific events during review and QC.
We also fixed issues where:
- Active events would disappear from the filtered list
- Editing event text caused events to drop from filtered results
- Horizontal digit filtering behaved incorrectly
Filtering is now consistent and reliable.
🔤 Find Improvements
- Find now searches the source document by default (if visible).
- You can disable source searching in Advanced Options.
- Fixed an issue where regex searches were overmatching.
Search results should now be more accurate.
✏️ Editing & Navigation Improvements
Cursor & Merging
- Your cursor now stays at the merge point after merging events (matches legacy behavior).
- Arrow keys no longer jump events if you’re holding Shift.
- Up/down arrows now move to the next/previous event when you're on the last/first line of text.
(Note: This does not apply to dubbing workflows.)
Timeline & Text Display
- Timeline text wrapping now matches line breaks in the Events panel.
- Fixed pan/zoom behavior in the video player.
- Fixed event ordering issues for very long events.
- Fixed padding issues when media backgrounds are applied.
Go To Shortcuts
Program combinations for the following shortcuts to jump to an event or timecode:
- Open Seek to Event Modal
- Open Seek to Timecode Modal
🎨 Font Size Customization
You can now adjust font size for:
- Event text in the Events panel
- Event text on the Timeline
Minimum and maximum limits are supported for both panels.
This makes long scripting sessions easier on the eyes.
🧭 New Timeline View Options
These settings are enabled by default unless noted otherwise:
Full-Width Timeline
The timeline now expands to full width for more space.
You can disable this in Settings.
Overlay Timeline Events on Waveform
(Available for G11n workflows)
Events can now overlay the waveform for tighter visual alignment.
You can turn this off in Settings.
Show Timecodes on Timeline
(Disabled by default)
You can enable timecodes directly on events in the timeline for additional reference.
📄 Source & Snapshot Updates
- You can now create and load snapshots as a source document.
- Added a Sandbox PLDL asset type filter.
- Character Library will now populate even if script fetch fails.
- Clone Source Event shortcut added:
- Clone = structure only (no text)
- Copy + Paste = includes text
🏷 Improved Visibility
- Updated appearance of the Forced Narrative tag for better visibility.
- Fixed 4x5 and 1x1 supplemental marketing safe guides (green boxes).
- Fixed bidi supplemental delivery failures.
🔊 Audio & Waveform Sync
On load, the following now stay properly synced:
- Audio track
- Wavefor
- Wavefile
- Language selection
We also fixed an issue with downloading DX stem waveforms.
✅ Validation & Stability Fixes
- Multiple stability fixes across filtering, formatting, and event handling.
🌍 Expanded Spellcheck Support
We’ve added support for several new languages in spellcheck.
