The Netflix Footage Ingest MacOS application allows you to backup and verify your original camera and sound masters to Netflix Data Center, using Aspera Connect to transfer the data. This application is the main entry point for all of the camera data to Netflix Content Hub asset Library. If you would like to use the Netflix folder template, you can find help here. Should you have any questions about data management best practices, you can find a complete guide here.
Uploads through the Netflix Footage Ingest application should be limited to up to 1 day of media at a time. A day of media can be broken up into parts, so you don’t have to upload your entire day of media in one go. However no more than 1 day at a time should be uploaded.
Please ensure that your workstation is set to Never Power Nap and that Wake for network access is set to Never.
You will need to refresh your login every 18 hours. If you are unsure how long you have been logged in for, we recommend that you log out and log back in to ensure that your upload will not fail.

Select the project you would like to upload by clicking. Then select Next.
Figure C
You will now see the Upload Summary screen. In this screen you will see an attempt at understanding what is a camera roll, vs what is a sound roll, vs any other additional content on the drive. To understand what a camera roll is, the application will look for an MHL within the roll. Therefore every camera and sound roll should have an MHL within the directory.
Confirm that every camera and sound roll has been recognized as a roll. If they have not been, it could be due to a missing MHL. If you get your hands on an MHL that was not sent to you, as long as you have not started uploading, you can go back to Finder, add the MHL to the roll, and then use the Re-scan button to have the application take another look.
There is optional data that can be filled out on the top of the interface as well for Shoot Day, Episode/Block and Unit. The Shoot Date will be automatically retrieved from your MHL. The other fields will be taken from the folder structure you uploaded if by chance you follow our folder structure logic. Please see here for specifics.
