On this page, you will find the install and release notes for the Netflix Footage Ingest application.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS 

Please check with your Netflix Representative before upgrading. If you decide to proceed, contact Netflix Support for assistance.

To ensure a seamless upgrade without interrupting your uploads, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete Active Uploads: Make sure all active uploads are finished. Avoid starting new uploads during this process.
  2. Close the Application: After ensuring no uploads are running, close the Netflix Ingest App.
  3. Perform the Upgrade: Proceed with upgrading the application.

Important: If you upgrade while uploads are ongoing, those uploads will be paused and cannot be resumed due to compatibility issues with the new version.

If you encounter any issues with the new version, you can revert to the previous version.

Machine Technical Specifications

The Netflix Footage Ingest Application is only compatible with a Mac meeting the following spec:

  • MacStudio or Mac Mini
  • OSX Ventura - 13.X or higher
  • Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
  • 64GB unified memory
  • 1TB SSD storage
  • Minimum 1Gbps Network Card

Please, ensure that your computer is set to never go into power nap and wake as network access will be disabled. Additionally you will need to be a local admin in order to install the application and your network team will need to ensure that all required IP addresses, ports, and host names are on your allow list. The full list can be found here. We strongly recommend that this computer is only used for Netflix Footage Ingest uploads.
