Before you dive into using the Original Camera Footage (OCF) Auto Download for your production, it's crucial to conduct a full round-trip test. This ensures everything is set up perfectly for a smooth operation.

Step 1: Network Configuration

  • Network Setup: Make sure your network is configured to allow the Netflix Media Downloader to access your OCF. You can find the complete IP allow list here
  • Bandwidth Requirements: Ensure your network has sufficient bandwidth. We recommend a minimum of 1Gbps but we recommend 3 - 5 Gbps to handle the downloads efficiently.

Step 2: Application Installation

  • Download & Install: Get the Netflix Media Downloader application installed on your system. If your facility also uses the Netflix Footage Ingest application, remember to install the Media Downloader on a separate computer.
  • Log In & Enable: Once installed, log in to the application and enable the OCF Auto Download feature for your production.

Step 3: Media Confirmation

  • Verify Media Format: Confirm whether your production is using file-per-frame media. This is crucial to ensure optimal performance with the Netflix Media Downloader Application.

  • Contact Your Netflix Representative: Once you have verified your media format(s), reach out to your Netflix Representative. Provide them with the type of media you will be receiving.

By following these steps, you will ensure that the correct test media is sent for download

Step 4: Test Download

  • Trigger the Test: Your Netflix Representative will initiate a test download to verify that your setup is ready to receive OCF.
  • Troubleshooting: If you encounter any issues during the download, promptly inform your Netflix Representative. They will coordinate with our support team to resolve any problems.
