We heard you on UserVoice!
A highly requested feature is here:
Lock Events Panel in Originator Studio, plus new keyboard shortcuts to boost your workflow.
Watch the video below to learn more! Or jump to the descriptions below.
New Setting: Lock Event List While Editing
What it does:
When you’re editing an event, the event list stays in place during playback.
- Turn on the setting: “Lock event list while editing” to help you stay focused while editing without the list jumping around.
- Turn off the setting "Select Current Event When Video is Paused."
Important:
- The lock only works when you’re active in the event.
- If the focus is outside the event, the list follows the playhead like usual.
New Keyboard Shortcuts
Note: These shortcuts are not assigned by default. You must assign these shortcuts for them to work.
Shortcut | What it does | When to use it |
Scroll to Active Event | Centers the active event in the list | When you’ve scrolled away from your event |
Start Editing | Move the focus to the event | When you want to start typing without using the mouse |
Stop Editing | Moves the focus out of the event | When you want to let the list follow playback again |
Seek to Event Start | Jumps to the beginning of the event | When you want to quickly re-review your segment |
Seek to Event End | Jumps to the end of the event | When you want to check how your event finishes |
Select Event at Playhead | Activates the nearest event to the playhead |
When you delete an event, the playhead stays put, and the event panel becomes inactive. Use this to quickly refocus when you're ready to edit the next event.
