We have introduced a new asset inspection (ANALYZER-Audio-OutOfSync) to Backlot's Inspection as a Service (IaaS) workflow. The goal of this new inspection is to automatically detect when dubbed audio is not in sync with the primary video asset . This will reduce the frequency of Global Sync Offset (Audio), Global Sync Drift Early (Audio), and Global Sync Drift Late (Audio) errors being flagged downstream in manual QC allowing us to identify and fix critical issues sooner.
This inspection will apply to Secondary Audio source requests in Backlot and compares the audio from the primary video asset with the actual Secondary Audio (dub) deliverable to detect if the timing and sync of the file is correct.
This is currently supported for Lip Sync dubs only. The inspection will skip Voice Over or Hybrid style dubbed audio.
