Finding the Workspace Preview Tool
Overview
The Workspace page in Content Hub is a powerful place for storing and sharing files and folders while working on a Netflix show. However, it does not natively provide the ability to preview files directly from the Workspace page. Now, with the new Workspace Preview tool in the Tool Library, Content Hub users can now preview files that are stored in their workspace without first needing to download them to their local machines.

Supported File Formats
The following file types are supported by the Workspace Preview tool:

Audio:
- .mp3
- .wav
- .ogg

Video:
- .mp4
- .mov
- .avi
- .webm
- .ogg

Images:
- .jpg
- .jpeg
- .png
- .gif
- .bmp
- .svg

Document Files:
Size Limitations
- Files larger than 1 GB are not supported for preview.
- If a file you are trying to preview is large -- 500 MB or higher -- you may experience issues with the preview experience.
Browser Recommendation:
- The ability to preview these file types could be affected by your browser. Make sure you use Google Chrome browser for the best experience. (This ensures the best experience when using Content Hub in general as Chrome is the only supported browser.)
Finding the Workspace Preview Tool
Navigate to the Content Hub platform (https://contenthub.netflixstudios.com/) and locate and select your project from the available list.
Once you are in the project, go to the Tool Library page in the lefthand navigation side panel. Select Tool Library.
Once on the Tool Library page, locate the Workspace Preview tool then select anywhere on the card to open the tool. This will open the tool within the library.
Select Files for Preview
Once the tool is open, you can navigate your My Workspace or your Shared with me sections to find a file you wish to preview. From either section, you can select the caret icon (>) to expand the section or any folder structure within….
…or you can select the Open button that appears on hover to enter that folder structure.
Note: you can also use the navigational breadcrumbs to navigate to a higher folder level as well.
Previewing Media
With the Workspace Preview tool, you can preview video, audio, still image, GIFs, and PDF files.
Previewing Video
Once open, select a video file (less than 1 GB in size) you wish to preview from your My Workspace or your Shared with me sections.
Once selected, a media player appears on the right hand side of the screen (under File Preview) that allows you to preview your selected media instantly.
In addition to using the playhead node to shuttle through the video as shown above, you can also:
- See the current timecode
- Mute the video player
- Use video transport controls like rewind, previous frame, play, next frame, and fast forward
- Select subtitles (if available on the file)
- Change seek duration
- Picture-in-Picture
- Open Full screen
Previewing Audio
Once open, select an audio file (less than 1 GB in size) you wish to preview from your My Workspace or your Shared with me sections.
Once selected, a media player appears on the right hand side of the screen (under File Preview) that allows you to preview your selected media instantly.
As shown above, you can download the audio from the preview as well as adjust the playback speed.
Previewing Images
Once open, select a still image or GIF file (less than 1 GB in size) you wish to preview from your My Workspace or your Shared with me sections.
Once selected, a media player appears on the right hand side of the screen (under File Preview) that allows you to preview your selected media instantly.
By clicking on the preview of the image, it will become larger. You can scroll on your mouse to zoom in or out on the image. Once zoomed, you can click and drag to get a closer look of a certain portion of the image. Select the x icon to return to normal size.
Previewing PDFs
Once open, select a PDF file (less than 1 GB in size) you wish to preview from your My Workspace or your Shared with me sections.
Once selected, a media player appears on the right hand side of the screen (under File Preview) that allows you to preview your selected media instantly.
As shown above, you can scroll the pages of the PDF, jump to a certain page number, as well as zoom in and out.
Unselecting a File for Preview
Once a file is selected, a banner will appear near the top of the screen that says 1 selected. To remove this selection, select the X button to the left of the 1 selected text. You can also just click into another file for preview and the preview will dynamically switch.
Unsupported File Formats or Sizes
Not all file formats are supported. If you try to preview an unsupported file, you will see this message.
If you try to preview a file larger than 1 GB, you will see this message.
