Once an automated transcription has been created via Content Hub, you can then review and edit the automated transcriptions using the Transcription Editor tool in Originator Studio. It ensures that all transcriptions are accurately reviewed and stored in the appropriate Workspace folder in Content Hub.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. Automated Transcription Completion
    • Once an automated transcription from Content Hub’s Tool Library is triggered and completed, the submitter will receive an email notification.
  2. Accessing the Transcription Editor
    • The email will contain a link to open the transcription in the editor for manual review and updates.
  3. Reviewing and Editing
    • Upon opening the editor, you will be taken to the video and its corresponding transcription.
    • Review the transcription carefully, making necessary edits to ensure accuracy.
  4. Finalizing the Review
    • Once the review is complete, click the "Done" button located in the upper right-hand corner of the editor.
    • This action will lock the file, preventing further edits as well as .
  5. File Return
    • The reviewed files will be sent to the same Workspaces folder where the original and unreviewed files are stored, along with an email notification for when they are ready.
    • The files will be placed in a "Reviewed" folder for that specific submission.

Recommended Settings 

Timeline Enable "Separate timeline by character" to better organize scenes involving multiple characters. Assign individual tracks to characters on the timeline for improved scene management.

Additional Tips 

Changing a Character Name 

  • To change a character name, click on the character dropdown in the transcription text area. Click the edit button (pencil icon) to open a new window where the character can be renamed. 

Managing Events 

Click the vertical "..." button to access options for managing events. 

  • Merge Events: Merge the current event with the one above or below.
  • Split Events: Split the text into a new event above or below, depending on cursor placement.
  • Delete Event: Remove the current event. 

Separate A Large Segment of Text With Multiple Users

Split at Caret (Ctrl+Enter):

  • Use this function to create a new event by splitting the text at the caret position.
  • The text following the caret will be moved to the new event.
  • This method is recommended during the initial review of the text.

Assigning and Adjusting the New Event:

  • Navigate to the newly created event.
  • Assign the event to the appropriate character.
  • Adjust the timecode to align with the character's dialogue.

Alternative Method: Split at Caret and Frame (Ctrl+Shift+Enter):

  • If the playhead is positioned where the speaker changes, use this function.
  • It will split the event and set the start time of the new event to the current playhead position.
